I seem to be seeing more problems being reported with using Crystal Reports on a Windows Vista computer. Here is what you need to know about Crystal Reports and Vista.

Crystal Reports has been updated for Vista ONLY in R2 (release 2) and with Service Pack 2 released in March 2007.

Crystal Reports XI R1 (the edition most people have) has not been updated for Vista compatibility. You WILL have problems.

Go to the following links to download and install XI R2 and Service Pack 2:
Crystal Reports R2 download:

Service Pack 2:

I hope this helps everyone,

Brian

Hi,

I'm having trouble locating the CR XI R2 image. The link you provided goes to a Crystal Reports Server page, and I don't see any d/l link for Crystal Reports Professional.

Thanks

Edit:
After a 1Gb+ download, the http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreports/14-70174-085.zip link is actually a slipstreamed full install of CRII R2SP2.

Hello everybody,

Is it normal that this SP asked a license? Isn't it free?

Thanks in advance

This post references crystal reports 2008 which is not the same as the free version you are refering to that is included with certain versions of visual studio.

I recently installed XI on a Win7 machine

CR Professional Full ver 11.0.0.1282

so far I have not had any issues although I was told it was incompatible - does the R2 release address any Win7 issues?

Thanks in advance,

Crystal Reports 7.0, by Seagate, came out in 1999. You can bet that it's obsolete, and since Windows Vista was released in 2007, there was no anticipation of what would be in Vista.

Crystal 7 was designed with Window 98 in mind. You're on your own here.
