Specifically what I'm wanting to do, is I have a table which stores Social Security numbers as a string. I want to tell it to omit outputting all but the last 4 characters.


How might I go about doing that in CR 9?

create a formula which has following syntax
 
mid(<field>,1,length(<field>)-4)

Errr.....slightly wrong syntax,


That gives me ###-##
rather than                    ####
