    Posted: 26 Feb 2008 at 3:36pm
Today is my first day with "Crystal Reports 9 for DUMMIES" so I am obviously new to Crystal.
Trying to pull data from our accounting software and the date the order was placed pulls as "12327464".
The field shows it is a number field and I don't know how to convert to a date.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Thank you!!  The link you sent is wonderful because it specifically mentions Macola Accounting which is what I am working with!
My choice of numbers was very bad.  The numbers actually come out as YYYYMMDD so the formula should work.
Next newbie questions -- where do I put the formula?
Thank you SO MUCH!

Just wanted you to know that I finally did it!  Converted the number to a readable date.

While you said to put it in the detail section, I didn't realize that you had to drag the icon into the detail section.  Ithought putting the formula in was adequate.

Just wanted to say thank you again.
