    Posted: 17 Aug 2016 at 5:58am
Hello,

I know nothing about SQL Queries, and am trying to make some changes to an existing report which was written by someone who no longer works at our company.

I want to change the selection values in the query but when I go to Database> Show SQL Query, it is all grayed out and not available for me to make changes. Does this need to be done somewhere else ?

thanks in advance for your help!

1. What version of Crystal Reports do you have?  How the SQL is created/made changes on version 9.
2. What you are looking at is just a view of the SQL that Crystal Reports has generated, thus it is ready only.  If you click on Database, Database Expert.  It should show you how you are connected to the database.  At that point you could have a command (user supplied query) or tables.  Having some knowledge of the database structure is key to figuring out what and how to make the changes you need.
