I am using Crystal Report 2008.

Need to create report as followed:

Date         Beginning      Amount       Balance
9/30/2015 $30,000.00       $1,500.00       $28,500.00
9/30/2016 $28,500.00       $2,500.00       $26,000.00
9/30/2017 $26,000.00       $3,000.00       $23,000.00

First Beginning amount ($30,000) is based on a formula.
Amount is field from table.
Balance is Beginning minus Amount.

I need to have first Balance amount ($28,500) pass on to next line as beginning balance for 2016 and so on and so on.

What's the best way to achieve the above? Cross tab or Running Total? Please provide recommendations.

Thank you for your help. :)

this will really depend on the 'First beginning formula'.
can you explain that in more detail.

Hi,

The 'First Beginning Balance' is from the Grand Total of another cross tab report (see bottom right corner **):
Date          Amount                 Grand Total
Row #1           Sum of Amount            Sum of Amount
Total           Sum of Amount        **Sum of Amount**

I need to grab the cross tab grand total and use it as beginning balance of my other report to do the running total calculation.

Feel free to recommend the best way to achieve the above. :)

Does anyone has input on this? Urgent need to have it resolved.

Basically I just need to know the best way to pass calculated values (Beginning - Amount) to the next line and so on. Think running total is the solution but I am not sure the correct way under 'Evaluate' and 'Reset'.

Please help!
