We recently upgraded some of our PCs to IE10 and are experiencing some issues with BI Launchpad.

The Documents tab title [Documents] is initially missing when the user signs in. If I click on the area where it should be, then it appears.

When I view a report, similar issue. The top tab that has the report name and view controls are missing. When I click in that area, they appear, HOWEVER, it is not wide enough and there is no [X] to close the report.

It seems that these 2 tabs [for lack of a better name] are defaulting to not be wide enough, but there does not appear to be a way to widen them [no horizontal scrolls].

Another strange thing is that there are vertical scroll bars where I would expect the Tab dividers.

FYI: The BI Launch pad Preferences for all users are set as follows:
Set BI Launch pad start page
[ ] Home tab
[x] Documents tab
    [ ] My Documents
    [x] Folders
         [ ] Public Folders
          [x] Select Publick Folder:
             [Our Reports Root Folder]
          [ ] Categories
Choose columns displayed in Documents tab:
[x] Type
[x] Last Run
[x] Instances
[ ] Description
[ ] Created By
[ ] Created On
[ ] Location
[ ] Received On
[ ] From
Set document viewing location:
[x] In the BI launch pad portal as tabs
[ ] In multiple full screen browser windows, one window for each document

I am hoping that someone else might have seen a change in behavior with IE10 and appreciate any suggestions.

You will need to check with the Product Availability Matrix(PAM) for your version of BI and see if IE 10 is compatible.  I know that BI 4.0 SP 5 only works up to IE 9.

According to Central Mgmt Console, we are currently at Product Version: 14.0.3,   Build Number: 738, which according to my references indicates SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4.0 SP4.

I found information indicating that BI 4.1 SP04 is supposed to be compatible with IE10, although I don't know what is involved in acquiring it. I have no control over the Crystal Reports Server, just responsibility for our reports that are on it. I just need to tell the powers that be what they need to install and then wait and hope it happens.

I am anticipating some headaches.

Thanks
:-)

If you're running Crystal Reports Server and not BusinessObjects, you're actually on Crystal Server 2011 SP4 (same platform code as BO 4.0 SP4, but limited to run Crystal only....)

Your server needs to be upgrade to Crystal Server 2013 with the latest service pack (SP6, I think.)

Thanks Hilfy. I really don't know which server we have. Everything is remote to my group and I do not have privileges other than CMC and BI Launchpad.

If it's the full BI Platform (BusinessObjects - either Edge or Suite) they'll need to upgrade to 4.1 SP5 (I've had a few issues with SP6 with my clients). If it's Crystal Reports Server, it needs to be Crystal Server 2013 with SP5 or 6.

Thanks again Hilfy.

I have passed the information along. It will be up to the Server Administrator group to finalize determination of what they have and what they need to do. I am just hoping that they get it done before the Network Group pushes Internet Explorer 10 out to more users.
