Question
Error is:

%1 could not be found
Failed to open document

Am using CR 2008.

The error occurs regardless of whether I double-click on the *.rpt file or if I start CR then load the the *.RPT.

I was working on this file last week and have quite a bit of time invested in it.

It contains about 2 dozen sub-reports (I'm not the original author).

The original file, before the changes, works fine so it is probably not a data/connection issue.

The errors are not in any of the help/documentation.

Is anyone familiar with this error?

CR does not seem to have a menu option to repair corrupt RPT files, if that's what this is.

There does not seem to be a way to load this in a design/debug mode to find which subreport may be causing the problem.

Any help appreciated.

Thx.

I am not familiar with this but a few tricks to try...
are you getting the error only when the report preview is open?
if so close it,
supress all of your subreports and preview again. If you get it the message then it is likely in your main report.
if not then unsupress each sub report one at a time and preview to see if you can isolate which sub report is giving the error.

Thanks for the post.

I can't even get the report open in design mode.  So, no, I don't even get to print preview mode.

Any tricks to get it to open in design mode?
