My company recently purchased a patient management system and along with the purchase, we've been billed for several licenses of Crystal Reports 10 Professional.  Is there some reason that we should be on version 10, or should we be asking our vendor, "Why weren't we sold Version XI?"

(Having dealt with Microsoft for so many years, I'm real familiar with not purchasing the "latest and greatest"... Vista... need I say more?)

Thanks!

Definitely ask your vendor for CR XI. This might be due to a compatibility issue with the patient mgmt system. Maybe they are trying to get rid of excess copies of CR 10 in their stock? Most likely, they probably haven't tested the mgmt system with CR XI.

If possible, I would get licenses for CR XI. It's a huge improvement over CR 10.

I know that here in my government job, most everyone is on version 10, because that's the version of Enterprise we have.  Upgrading Enterprise is no small feat, and no small expense.  So, it hasn't happened.

As Brian mentioned, compatibility with the product may be an issue.
