i have not seen any solution for this... I recall someone suggested a hypothetical .net solution with special coding on an embedded 'print' button but that was just an idea not a proved solution.

This is from another site I frequent but it looks a little extreme and I can't say how feasible it would be for you in this instance:
You can create a sub report of the same report.
This means the main report has a copy of itself as a sub report. This
way you'll have two copies of the same report when you print. You can
edit whichever one you want to display/hide information.
