We needed to upgrade to Crystal XI Release 2 (with Service Pack 2) in order to develop our VB.NET (2005) app.  I uninstalled Crystal XI Release 1 before I installed Crystal XI Release 2. 
The installation of Crystal XI Release 2 seems to have taken up an extremely large amount of disk space. 
I checked Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, and CRXI Release 2's size is now 1785.00MB   I could only find the CRXI disk space requirements of 350MB (on BO's website).  I am using CR Developer Edition on an XP Machine. 
Also, the install creates a folder C:\CRXIR2SP2Full (or rather points to this where it will set up the install files), but then that remains out there after the install.  Is it necessary? Is the install not fully cleaning files up?  Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't know about the orphand folder, but you can probably delete it since it isn't in the main Proram Files/B O folder. (I would rename it and see if CR continues to work for the next week before deleting it). But according to the CR XI R2 user guide, you need 1GB disk space to install with 1.5 GB being recommended. So it is clearly a very large install.

I found the guide (which was included in the CRXIR2 download).  I'm wondering though, I installed on my machine today and it seemed to take up 2.7 GB of space.

I did a custom install, and selected some features (such as all Export features), but did not select everything.  Is there a document that I can look at before I install to map out what features I actually need to install? or do I just have to do it at the time of installation?  I haven't been able to locate anything like this either.

No document like this that I know of. Just select what you need and then check for those orphan folders that you mentioned and get rid of them (after testing).
