I am running Visual Studio 2003 and Crystal Reports X11 Release 2.
I am accessing data from MS SQL Server.

In adding new functionality to an already existing web app I have added Crystal Reports...  It would appear there is something about my project that prevents the reports from being exported to PDF.  I get the "Docuement is damaged and cannot be repaired" error message.

When I create a new project and add the CRViewer..it works just fine.  So I'm not missing DLL's.  I'm using the same report file and everything works just fine.

My question is.. What could be wrong with my current project that woud cause the report(s) to give me that error message.  I've already checked to make sure all the references in the new project are the same in the old project.  What ideas might you guys have?

thanks,
alex

I know the R2 was released to add compatiblity for .NET 2005, but maybe they didn't test it as much with .NET 2003 since it is no longer sold? Does it export fine if you are just using R2 standalone?

I just lost a lot of my reply post for you, so I'm going to get to the point..

You need to uninstall the entire Release 2 version, it is not right for your platform. The interal crystal reports that is in VSS 2003 is not version 10, like what was in VSS 2005 originally. Release 2 and then service pack that followed it, were to upgrade that internal engine within VSS 2005/CRW version 10.

Trust me, then go to MSDN's 'Crystal Reports for Visual Studio' to get the lowdown on what you need to do.
