Go to the File menu and select Page Setup.  You can change the orientation of your paper and the paper size here.

I think you meant 'printer setup.'

Works for me ...
Thanx!

No.  In Crystal XI it's "Page Setup".

What size paper are you set to use?  If it's "Letter", try setting it to "Legal" which will give you a lot more room.  It might also help to play with the font size, and possibly the font itself, to see how you can get it to fit.

Do all 25 fields have to fit across in one row?  If not, you could also do some creative design changes to display it in multiple rows.

I posted a solution that worked for me in another thread

http://www.crystalreportsbook.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=901 - http://www.crystalreportsbook.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=901

The problem shows up if your printer is not capable of larger paper sizes.  I have a number of customers that print reports on ledger size paper, but I did not have a printer on my system that print that same size.  So I was unable to increase the design areas to match my reports needs.  I went through all the steps others have mentioned until I stumbled across this.

My solution was to 'trick' CR into thinking I did have a printer that would print the larger sizes as outlined in the other thread. I have not had a problem since.

If someone has a better solution, I would implement it, but until then this work around has spared me much frustration.

Similar issue.  Using Crystal 10 to design a simple report with four columns of data coming from the same file (i'e', one line of data per job).  The report is 21 pages usina Arial 10 font.  Is there a "Shrink to Fit" setting whereby if I add more data, CR will automatically shrink the font to fit the columns across the page, show more rows of data per page, and decrease the size of the report?  Switching to Landscape will solve my width problem, but will ADD more pages to the report.

Thanks!

No, there is no "auto fit" feature.  You would have to manually re-size your columns.

I have never seen such an option in CR. I also have never seen such a property exposed when working the CR objects in Visual Studio. That makes me doubtful it exists, but admittedly I could have missed it.

If there is a way for this to happen I also would be interested in knowing about it.

As an aside, I find that I am able to take the report font size down to about 8pt before users complain about small print size. It does make it possible to fit more columns on a page and certainly more rows. That is not the solution you are looking for but it may give you more design room on the portrait postioning of the paper.

Thank you, John W.  I figured this feature was more of the norm than not amongst leading reporting writing softwares.  The construction accounting software package we use, Sage Timberline, has a report designer module which enables you to do just that.  Adding columns will decrease the font size once the default column width has been consumed.  Turning to landscape and introducing legal size certainly helps maintain visual integrity.  Sometimes, however, after the font size becomes microscopic, a design needs to be rethought!

So, time to CPA (cut, paste, and assemble)!

I used Crystal Report XI that the page size could be customized as the following way.

Page Setup->( Click on ) the "Printer" Button -> (Select) "MS Office Document Image Printer" -> (Click On) "Properties" -> The "Page" tab in the new pop up window would allow you to setup the page size whatever you want.

I have a report that exports to a text file (used as an import to another database).  It is over 130 inches wide.
