The details are a text field that "can grow" and generally expand to fill 2-5 lines each. If the "across then down" option is selected, the report fills both columns, does not take up too much space, but looks ugly because the details have different heights. If the "down then across" option is selected, crystal pushes the details section down to the bottom of the page before it wraps the column. Not acceptable - I want to keep the group footers on the page and keep the whole thing one page.   so the question is how do i limit the height of the details section and/or force it to wrap after so many inches/records?
