Hi,
I'm a newbie to crystal reports.
I need to get an average of values in the details section of a report, however the details are nested in two groups & I don't want to sum the sub totals of the groups, only the details of all the group & then display this in group header 1. It needs to be displayed as an average. (Sum then divide by number of values in the details sections of all the groups)

The detail value is a percent derived by the formula field:
mailto:%7bResourceUsageReport.Period1%7d/%7b@AvailWkHrs1 - {ResourceUsageReport.Period1}/{@AvailWkHrs1 }* 100

If group 1 name is:
ResourceUsageReport.CompanyName
group 2 is:
ResourceUsageReport.SiteName
group 3 is:
ResourceUsageReport.OrganizationName

how can I do this. The value to be displayed must also be a percentage.
The hard part is once I have summed it, what do I divide it with?

Thanks very much for any feedback

Ant

I got your problem.

This problem is solved by using Running Totals. Use the Running Totals fields to get the average.
