How to control a page based on number of lines not record count. Because one record may go to two or more lines.

Explain what you want to accomplish.  I do not understand the "How to control a page" part.

you're probably out of luck.

CR doesn't tell the report when a control that has been set to 'Can Grow' actually has.

The best you can do is count the records and adjust the count if the length of a field is suspected to have caused a control to grow. With proportional fonts, this can be difficult, hence the approximating.
