Subject: Using Grouping to identify duplicate records

I'm using Crystal Reports XI.

I'd like to create a report to identify duplicate records in a table and show the userid that created the most recent duplicate record.

At the moment I'm grouping the records by item_name and doing a count to show the records with duplicate item_names.  However, I'd also like to display the userid of the record with the most recent date.

I know how to display the latest date in the grouping, but how do I get the corresponding userid?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

go into record sort expert in report tab
and add your date field with descending order.

I should have mentioned that I'm suppressing the detail.

I know how to display the latest date in the grouping, but how do I get the corresponding userid to also display in the grouping?

this should have worked
you just place the userid and the date into group header.
have you tried it and didn't work?

I understand now.

Yes, it is working, although I have to do date ascending to get the latest date to show.

Thanks a lot.
