Hi, I have a sales report with numbered fields in a group footer and I would like them to be totaled how can I do this or can I? I have a total of three group fields, the list below is not part of  the details section. The Details section has other data. I'm a novice please help!

GF2 Industry
GF3 Customer        YTD  LYS  MTD
  Mass Ltd.             100  250    50
  Dealer Ltd.           500  300  100
  Bla Bla Inc.           600  300  250

are these values calculated in the report or did you just drag and drop them into the report footer?

No, I had to drop them in.

so basically you want a YTD,LYS and MTD total at the Industry group level and the value in your dataset are per row so it repeats for each detail row, correct?
You can use Running Totals or shared variables to get the values. Both need to be placed in group footers (if placed in a header it will not show the correct values).

I prefer Running totals so here is an example of that:
Right click on RT fields in the field explorer and select new
Name=YTD_Industry
field to summarize=YTD
Type=Sum
Evaluate= on chneg of group (select group 3-customer)
reset= on change of group (group2-inustry)
OK
drag and drop onto GF2
