I have a report that is displaying more than one result but I only want the last (newest) result to post.  I can't seem to write a formula that isn't a custum formula.  I'd like to use the Select Expert to display only the records that I want by choosing 1 or 0 but custom formulas do not display in the Select Expert.  Any suggestions??Confused

Post some sample data from database and how you want to display the data in the report

I have had to do this several times. What I normally do is create a group and sort the data in asc order. Then do a summary and you can choose the topN record for that field in the group footer. Then move your pertinant fields into the header row and surpress the details row.

you could also use the section expert and do a

recordnumber = 1
if you only need the first record

or you could depending on where you need the data, just display the group footer...most sorts are from oldest to newest, so the newest record is the last one, and this is the one displayed in the group footer....

Or reverse the sort order and display in the group header, and suppress the details.

It depends on what the data looks like when it is returned.  It is possible to accomplish this in a variety of ways.  I suggest that you post a sample of your data.
