Ok I have the following formula that works like it should
 
{salesdetailtable.Ordno} & "/"& CStr({salesdetailtable.QuoteNo}, "######")
 
Question I have is there a way to bold just the / character?

not in a formula, if you were to enter the values into a text box, you can bold individual parts but not an entire piece of text.
