Alright, I'm gonna start this by asking.

Does anyone know anything about how to use the Bursting Indexes?
I have a report that's taking currently ~53seconds to finish running...
it's far too slow. And i understand that the bursting indexes are designed to well... throw the processing into hypermode. But I still haven't really figured out how to use it...

If someone could help explain how this concept works... I'll love you long time :)

I didn't even know that these existed.  Just read the help file on them, and for me, I don't think that they will be of use.

Under 'Saved Data Indexes' there is a section for 'Auto', which will create indices for fields used in Record Selection formulas.  If you use stored procs to filter the data, the Bursting index doesn't seem to help, but if you return lots of data and then use the Record Selection Formulas to filter the data, it would appear that Crystal will create an index on its temp tables.  This will speed up the selection process as Crystal won't need to read each and every record, it will be able to select more rapidly the records that it needs.  The rest of the report (formatting) will proceed at the same speed...once the data is retrieved (I'm guessing)

This only a guess, as I have never used/seen this option before.

I seem to come to you guys with the tough stuff :P
haha... Well...

I tried the Auto indexing... but it only cut time down by MAYBE 3seconds...
or it could have just been a point of low network traffic.... heh...
I'm just trying to understand how it's meant to be used.... because the indexing it auto populated seemed a bit... well .... wack to me....
