Hi,

I am on a project migrating CR 8.5 reports to XI. Unfortunately it's not only changing the data source, but also taking some normalization of the DB into account.

It's an old system which has a lot of existing reports which differ just in small details.

Is there an easy way to compare reports (without printing report definitions + SQL statement and comparing by hand).

Thanks!

There's no simple way to do this without purchasing a third-party tool, but there is an easier way than manually comparing printouts.

Export the report definition to a file and then use a file compare tool - we use Beyond Compare - to see the differences.  The tool will highlight where the differences are.

For third-party tools see http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html - page down to see the report compare tools.
