    Posted: 26 Sep 2012 at 11:16pm
I have Crystal Reports 2008. I have a subreport in Details A, and the main report data row in Details B. In the subreport I do a count, set a shared variable to that count and pass it to the main report. The Details A section on top is set to underlay Details B, standard practice to get the subreport to calculate the variable first. Details B is set to be suppressed if the count from the subreport is greater than zero.

Problem is that when the subreport returns a greater than zero value Details B is suppressed but Details A still underlays a blank line so creates a gap. So I have small little gaps in between rows of data.

All sections in the subreport are suppressed but the subreport itself cannot be suppressed because it has to do the calculation. And it won't know until it runs.

How to avoid these gaps?
