When I export a basic report to Excel (say, 10 fields), it takes some work to get it into a nice clean spreadsheet for further analysis.  I have to unmerge the columns (not sure why), delete empty columns, and sort by the ID to push all the many interspersed empty rows to the bottom.  Is there something I can be doing in Design mode to make for a cleaner export?  Thanks!

Actually instead of exporting as a CSV, what you want to do is to carefully align all of your fields to a grid using the ruler and alignment markers. So if you have a report with multiple columns of numbers, for example, you would have a field starting at the left edge and going to about 1.5 inches. Then you would have your second column start at 1.5 inches and go to 3 inches and so forth. If you need space between two columns, add an empty text field that takes up the space and put it between the two alignment markers. All headings and footers should also have their fields aligned to specific markers. It works beautifully that way (if you can call excel exports beautiful) and allows you to export the report looking like a report with all the formatting.  If you need help or an example, please don't hesitate to ask. It really is pretty straightforward.
